Osborne Clarke is one of Europe's most respected and dynamic law firms. The firm's success is the result of delivering excellent business-focused legal advice in an energetic, straightforward and efficient way.
Osborne Clarke advises market leading and high performing organisations on their UK and international legal needs from its City, national and European offices and the Osborne Clarke Alliance.
Our main areas of expertise include banking, corporate, employment, pension & incentives, litigation/dispute resolution, property, commercial and tax.
Trainee profile
If you are a highly driven individual with good analytical, communication and organisational skills we would like to hear from you. Commercial acumen and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues are essential and foreign language skills are an advantage. Ideally, candidates should have grades A – B at A' Level or equivalent, as well as a minimum 2:1 degree grade in any discipline.
Training Environment
Our focus at Osborne Clarke is on developing a high performance culture and our aim is to develop trainees into legal business advisers. The Osborne Clarke trainee development programme offers legal, management and business skills training to develop the professional skills needed to progress as a lawyer in the firm.
The training contract is made up of four seats, each lasting six months in four different practice areas. Three of these seats are usually corporate, property and litigation. Trainees work closely with their training supervisors and fee earners in the department and can expect a high level of responsibility and client contact at an early stage in their training contract. Regular reviews and coaching sessions are held to ensure that trainees are reaching their potential. There are also opportunities for trainees to spend a seat in one of the firm's other offices, including Germany, or on a client secondment.
Vacation scheme
Our two-week vacation scheme is a great opportunity to gain first-hand experience of life and work at Osborne Clarke. The scheme runs in all of our UK offices during March/April and June/July and will give you the opportunity to meet trainees, solicitors and partners, and gain experience of client work. If you are in your penultimate year of a law degree, final year of a non-law degree or graduate, the scheme is a great way to help you decide whether a career in law at Osborne Clarke is right for you.
Applications
We are recruiting for training contracts to commence in September 2011/March 2012 and vacation placements in 2009. To apply, please visit our website to complete an online application form at www.osborneclarke.com/trainees.
