Where Will You be an International Lawyer?

We provide a comprehensive range of legal services, with a particular focus on those business sectors key to our clients. These are Energy & Infrastructure; Financial Institutions; Life Sciences; and TMT. The core practice areas, from which we draw our sector teams are: commercial, corporate, dispute resolution, European competition & regulatory, employment, finance, IP, information, communication & technology, projects, real estate, environment and tax. The diversity of our practice means that our teams have the ability to handle the full range of deals and transactions.
Training Contracts
Currently we are looking to recruit 50 trainees to commence training in September 2011/March 2012. We are seeking ambitious, focused individuals with law or non-law degrees. With four seats of six-months each, you will quickly find yourself at the centre of the action, gain hands on experience in different areas of our business and work with our clients from day one.
Applications open on 01 November 2008 and the deadline is 31 July 2009. Successful applicants will have a strong educational track record, and will be expected to achieve at least a 2:1 in your degree. Show us evidence of a rich ‘life experience’ as well as examples of your intellectual capabilities and we will provide you with everything you need to become a successful member of our firm.
Summer Vacation Schemes
Our two four-week vacation schemes over the summer provide a unique insight into working life at Simmons & Simmons. You will have the opportunity to experience our firm, service areas and the kind of deals and transactions we work on. Undergraduates usually apply for internships in their penultimate year. However, we are also happy to offer internships to final year students, graduates, mature and international students and those changing career.
Applications open on 01 November 2008 and the deadline is 31 January 2009. Candidates should have a strong track record of achievements and should be on course to achieve a 2:1. We will also explore your ability to form excellent interpersonal relations and work within a team environment, as well as your levels of motivation, drive and ambition.
Insight Workshops
During winter we run two three-day insight workshops, aimed specifically at non-law students. They provide a comprehensive picture of life in a busy, dynamic international law firm and you will gain first-hand experience of a legal working environment.
Applications open on 01 October 2008 and the deadline is 01 December 2008. We look for academic rigour and evidence of a genuine commitment to a career in the City.
Open Days
We run a number of open days throughout the year. Each day is designed to give an overview of the firm, while providing an opportunity to meet our lawyers and discover the firm’s culture first hand.
