Do you know what you are going to do once you've graduated? The friendly people at the Careers Service on Priory Road can help you:

Advice and Guidance

Talk to a Careers Adviser on any careers related matters, such as discussing careers options, how to make a decision, or help with your applications and interviews. Just turn up at the Careers Service for a 15 minute appointment. No need to book. Available 10am-4pm Mon-Fri (1-4pm only on Wednesdays). Follow-on 45 minute appointments are also available (bookable at drop-in).

Workshops

The Careers Service runs a wide variety of short talks and interactive workshops covering a range of topics including Career Planning, CVs and Applications, Interview Skills and Networking as well as workshops on a variety of transferable skills valued by employers. They also run practice 'mock' interview sessions (on a three-to-one basis). Details and sign-up via the Website.

Careers In...talks

A variety of Careers In.. talks will run over the Autumn Term, including (for the first time in 2007), 'Careers At the Bar'.

Careers Resources

The Service has a comprehensive website featuring job and work experience vacancies (including training contracts), information on the legal profession and options with a law degree, as well as general information on jobhunting, work experience and decision-making. Access to the Careers Network (alumni) and Careers Catalogue (list of resources). Also specific information for postgraduates and international students. www.bristol.ac.uk/careers

Careers Fairs and Employer Events

The Law Fair is held over 2 days in November, with a wide variety of firms, chambers, law schools and other recruiters. Other careers fairs and employer events, including Law Firm presentations, are also run in the Autumn Term. Details and sign up via the Careers Service website.
