The sun never sets on Ashurst, which is both a global player and a City heavy hitter.

Our in-depth understanding of our clients and commitment to providing exceptional standards of service has seen us become a trusted adviser to local and global corporates, financial institutions and governments on all areas of commercial law. Our people are our greatest asset and we bring together lawyers of the highest calibre with the technical knowledge, industry experience and regional know-how to provide the incisive advice clients need. At Ashurst you will work as part of a team operating in a high performance culture. We are creative, innovative, agile and incisive thinkers always looking for new and better ways of doing things. You will enjoy an inclusive culture which values the breadth of individual perspectives and contributions that we gain from having a diverse workforce. As part of a truly collaborative team, we support each other to achieve great things for our clients. We build strong partnerships with our clients working closely together on large and complex multi-jurisdictional transactions to deliver incisive and insightful commercial solutions. Our global reach provides opportunities for our people to work in numerous jurisdictions with leading international organisations across the world.
We expect a lot of ourselves- and so, as you would expect, you will need to be comfortable with challenges and pressure. You should also be able to express yourself confidently on paper and out loud, whether that’s among your team or in a client’s boardroom. Alongside all the hard work, we also have fun. We’re incredibly proud of our culture; we thrive when we’re collaborating; we care about our standards of client service; we’re willing to explore ideas and be accountable to our success; and as people, we’re good company. We will expect all of that from you too.
A training contract at Ashurst will move your mind beyond technical knowledge of the law. Ultimately, we want to help you become a thought leader with a reputation for clear, perceptive and influential advice – a professional in whom clients can place their trust. This isn’t an easy route to take. You’ll need to become a shrewd negotiator, have an ability to read both balance sheets and behaviours, and become a commercial strategist with a deep understanding of specific industries. We will plan closely with you four seats of six months each, that will broaden your worldview and hone your talents. At least one seat will be in a finance practice and to another transactional department.
