The careers dinner is an exclusive opportunity to network with 15 top firms during a three-course meal at the Marriott Royal Hotel. This will allow you to network with 3 of your preferred firms during the meal, followed by an informal networking session with all 15 firms. Firms have been known to request the CVs of students that impressed them so it is an event not to miss! Please note that the meal is provided free of charge and that the dress code is business formal.

Commercial Awareness Programme

The commercial awareness programme (CAP) is an exclusive opportunity for 50 undergraduate students seriously considering pursuing a career in commercial law. Drawing together some of the nation’s most prestigious law firms, students will gain an insight into what it takes to reach the very top of the profession. Confirmed participating firms include the following ones shown.

CAP is now entering its fourth year and is now more prepared than ever to tackle what illusively is meant by ‘commercial awareness’. The programme was created in light of the demand for students wishing to pursue commercial legal careers in the City of London, competition for which naturally (as in almost in all occupations these days) is becoming increasingly fierce. In light of this increasing demand, students must display a broad range of competencies, knowledge, understanding and experience, as well as academic achievements. Nonetheless, it is the objective of the CAP to assist students in this respect, seeking to develop an understanding of ‘commercial awareness’, the legal market generally, as well as polishing application and interview techniques to maximise chances of success in this exciting industry.

Please note that there is very strong competition to receive a place on this programme.
